"Artificial Pancreas Could Be Ready in 2017 For Diabetics"

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai will be one of eight test sites for a clinical trial of a new artificial pancreas system. While earlier versions primarily served as blood glucose monitors, the newest technology goes a step further, consisting of a pump worn outside the body, a continuous glucose monitor, which measures glucose from fluid under the skin, and a device that runs continuous algorithms to determine how much insulin should be delivered.
