Who We Are

For the Community

With long-standing and deep roots in its community, The Mount Sinai Medical Center is dedicated to being a full and active participant in the community it serves. Offering innovative programs specifically targeted to meet community needs and to assist in the achievement of community aspirations, Mount Sinai is always looking for new approaches, new perspectives and new ways to serve the community it calls home.

Our Community Priorities

It is only through the dedication of our staff and the support and participation of the people in the communities themselves that Mount Sinai is able to meet these central and rewarding health care responsibilities. Our major priorities are:

  • Improving cardiovascular health
  • Preventing and treating infectious diseases
  • Improving maternal and women’s health
  • Supporting the healthy physical and mental health development of children and adolescents
  • Maintaining health and reducing institutional care for the elderly
  • Reducing language, cultural, and economic barriers to medical care
