In response to the rapid evolution of biomedical sciences, Mount Sinai School of Medicine has developed an extensive array of Shared Research Facilities, Departmental Cores, Institutional Centers, and other resources.
Our newest building, the Center for Science and Medicine, will be a state-of-the-art medical science, research and clinical facility to complement Mount Sinai’s existing world class research and clinical programs. Learn more about our newest facility and the progress being made.
Departmental Cores are laboratories based in and administered by individual departments which provide specialized services to a restricted number of investigators who are programmatically connected. Structure and governance of DC is determined by the department in which they are housed. Guidelines for each DC are being developed and will be posted along with the range of services, fees and billing systems.
Institutional Centers and other resources are administratively independent units which provide school-wide infrastructure of research and educational services. They include the Center for Comparative Medicine and Surgery, General Clinical Research Center (GCRC), Library and Media Resource Center, Brookdale Center Store, and the Culture Supplies Center.
SRF bring state-of-the-art instrumentation and methodologies crucial to modern biomedical research within the reach of all MSSM investigators.
