The Office of Clinical Research
Developed in response to the needs of Mount Sinai's ever growing research community, the Office of Clinical Research (OCR) has been established by the Dean's Office to facilitate the conduct of clinical research through a centralized infrastructure under the leadership of Drs. Mary Sano and Rosemarie Gagliardi within the Mount Sinai Clinical and Translational Research Institute.

Our mission is to provide investigators and their research staff with resources, information and expertise in clinical research in order to foster the clinical and translational research enterprise within Mount Sinai, its affiliates and the broader community.

The OCR provides the "portal of entry" for initiating translational trials, coordinating clinical research administration, offer consultation for accomplishing clinical research oversight and provide support personnel with the expertise to reduce barriers and facilitate clinical and translational research.   The office has also assisted in the implementation of InfoEd which provides "real time" accounting of all clinical research activities at MSMC that enable researchers to track and monitor trial progress and the dissemination of study results.(http://sinaiknowledge.mssm.edu/infoed-user-support).

The OCR also offers a variety of centralized operations including human subject and financial compliance support via the Division of Clinical Trials Budget and Billing Operations (CTBB). (Manuals and Documents - Office of Clinical Research).

CTBB in conjunction with the Grants and Contract Office is the center for coordinating the financial aspect of your clinical research. As such, CTBB provides the necessary tools for conducting innovative and safe clinical testing in compliance with required financial and regulatory guidelines. CTBB offers budget templates, standardized fee schedules and tools for identifying services to ease budget development, billing verification and assure compliance. It will also offer continuous training and updates on federal and industrial regulatory requirements in collaboration with other existing programs within MSMC.
