Research Overview

The schizophrenia psychopharmacology research program at Mount Sinai is dedicated to the advancement of the psychopharmacological treatment of patients with schizophrenia. The goals of this program are:

  1. To encourage the use of evidence based pharmacological practices by clinicians who treat patients with schizophrenia.
  2. Participate in multicenter trials of select novel antipsychotic treatments as they become available.
  3. Systematically evaluate pharmacological augmentation approaches to improve the cognitive, self care, social and occupational functioning of patients with schizophrenia.
  4. Evaluate approaches to approve outcome in patients treated with clozapine.
