In 2008, the Mount Sinai PEHSU opened a satellite center in Huntington, Long Island -- the Center of Excellence in Children's Environmental Health at the Mount Sinai North Shore Medical Group. Funded by a New York State grant supported by Senator Carl Marcellino, the mission of the Center is to provide clinical consultations and education to families, health care professionals, public health officials, and community organizations in Long Island with concerns regarding children's environmental health.

The Center at North Shore Medical Group is one of eight children's environmental health centers (CEHCs) throughout New York State coordinated by the New York State Department of Health that make up a Statewide System of Centers of Excellence.
