Peronalized Medicine Informatics Program

Mount Sinai is undergoing an information technology infrastructure transformation towards a fully electronic data environment for clinical and translational research management, patient management, and medical records. Together, these systems will hold comprehensive faculty, research protocol, and compliance data, and detailed phenotypic information on any patient seen at Mount Sinai.

IPM's Personalized Medicine Informatics Program focuses on informatics solutions that connect biological data collected in Mount Sinai's genomics and proteomics laboratories with phenotypic data stored in the Medical Center's clinical information systems. We make clinical information systems "research aware" and facilitate seamless recruitment of subjects, enabling the collection of research data as a part of the clinical care process. For compliance and patient safety reasons, clinical databases are stripped of personal identifiers to give researchers unlimited access to de-identified clinical databases.
