The IT Core Lab, which operates under the directorship of Quingbin Song, provides IT services to support the substantial needs of IPM in custom database and software development. In addition to providing collaborative services in database design and management (such as LIMS systems), software development and programming script development, the IT Care Lab has developed web-based systems, including a custom LIMS system BioExper©, instrument reservation tools and tools for gene mapping, and QTL MatchMaker©, which integrate and mine quantitative trait loci (QTL) information across human, mouse and rat genomes and to annotate functional genomics data. The lab also supports development and upgrades to the Biobank specimen tracking system.
