Genomics Core Lab

The IPM Genomics Core Laboratory provides a wide range of genomics and automation support to collaborating investigators. With its extensive experience in managing Affymetrix array-based applications, this lab specializes in providing institution-wide support for running Affymetrix Gene Expression, Genotyping and Tiling microarrays.

The facility has expertise in High Throughput Gene Expression Profiling and SNP Genotyping, Copy number, Association studies and Linkage Analysis, and Real Time PCR. The Genomics Core Lab currently provides assistance to many other collaborating laboratories in Experimental Design, Affymetrix Microarray (Expression and SNP) studies, Real Time PCR, robotic pipetting, automated high throughput nucleic acid purification and Mouse and Human Genotyping.

Major instruments include equipment for high throughput expression and SNP studies using the Affymetrix GeneChips System, for lower throughput expression analysis, SNP genotyping and miRNA analysis we use Real Time PCR. A high throughput liquid handling robot is utilized for multiple preparatory purposes, mainly high throughput nucleic acid purification and high throughput Affymetrix platform labeling protocols. Analytical instruments are also available to quality control of nucleic acids and proteins. Furthermore, the laboratory has high capacity PCR machines for specific Affymetrix workflow.
