Office of Postdoctoral Affairs
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is a dedicated resource for postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and administrators, and provides support to enhance the outstanding scientific training available to Mount Sinai's postdoctoral investigators.
Research Overview
The research in our laboratory explores the psychological, social and medical factors that influence individual health behavior decisions. In the cancer context these might include the decision to adhere to recommended cancer screening, the selection of a particular treatment, or to enter a clinical trial. In addition to social and medical factors our research emphasizes the importance of individual beliefs and expectations as well as a person’s emotional reaction to a health threat. Recent models in health psychology and behavioral medicine guide our research.
