11/05 - 1st prizewinner of the 2005 American Heart Association’s Melvin L. Marcus Young Investigator Award in cardiovascular science for work entitled: "The mitochondrial Origin of Post-Ischemic Arrhythmias".

11/06 - Winner and 1st co-author of the 2005 Best Paper Award in Circulation for the manuscript: "Functional integration of electrically active cardiac derivatives from genetically engineered human embryonic stem cells with quiescent recipient ventricular cardiomyocytes: insights into the development of cell-based pacemakers".
