The control is by the sympathetic nervous system. In the case of Hyperhidrosis, the sympathetic nerves are unpredictable and completely uncontrollable.

The condition is extremely frustrating for those who have it. It can generate enormous anxiety, self-esteem problems and will compromise social and professional activities.
