Vascular Surgery

Overview

Patients with vascular disease now enjoy greater quality of life than ever, thanks to treatment innovations in the past 15 years. Many, in fact, were developed here at Mount Sinai. We offer an integrated, state-of-the-art program that combines personal attention, multidisciplinary care, and institutional support.

Since its formation in 1996, the endovascular program at Mount Sinai has quickly become one of the nation’s busiest centers for minimally invasive treatment of abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms. The division performs more endovascular repairs than any other institution in New York City.

Other areas of specialty include carotid artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, venous disease, and dialysis access.

We assess each patient to diagnose the condition and determine its level of severity. Then, we recommend an appropriate therapy. For some individuals, surgery gives the best results. We can treat other patients without conventional surgery, using newer, minimally invasive procedures done as an outpatient.

Our surgeons have the expertise to perform a full range of therapies, including non-surgical treatments like angioplasty and stenting. The extensive resources of one of New York’s leading medical institutions are only moments away.
