Pediatric Surgery

Overview

The Mount Sinai Division of Pediatric Surgery offers a full range of pediatric surgical procedures in a family-focused, child-sensitive environment. From initial orientation through our “Meet Me at Mount Sinai” sessions for children until final discharge, we cater to the special needs of this select group.

We emphasize minimally invasive techniques for our young patients. These state-of-the-art procedures cause less injury. This means fewer complications and shorter hospital stays, causing less pain and anxiety. Faster healing lets patients and their families return to normal activities more quickly.

Our surgeons work closely with pediatric specialists throughout the institution to provide superior care. As just one example, we work with the Mount Sinai pediatric gastroenterology group to manage children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Our long history of successfully treating IBD in young patients builds on the institution’s pioneering work in managing colon and rectal diseases.

Mount Sinai’s pediatric surgeons are committed to improving the lives of our young patients and their families with leading-edge medical technology.
