Patients with brain injuries often present with a variety of physical, cognitive, behavioral, communicative, and/or emotional needs. Following evaluation by the interdisciplinary team, a treatment plan is established to address these issues. Individuals and group therapies are utilized according to need. Brain Injury can be either of a traumatic or non-traumatic nature, such as stroke. The Brain Injury Program accepts patients in different stages of recovery including those who are emerging from a coma as well as individuals with higher levels of functioning who require ongoing medical management, nursing care and rehabilitation.

The needs of people with brain injury can vary significantly from person to person. The Mount Sinai Brain Injury Program is superbly equipped to provide targeted, individualized therapy, backed by the resources of Mount Sinai Medical Center, in order to meet the complex and ever-changing needs of people with brain injuries.
