A new name is added to the national waiting list every 13 minutes. One donor can save up to eight lives through organ donation and improve dozens of lives through corneal, bone, skin, and other tissue transplants.
According to the U.S. government Organ Donation Site, while approximately 60 people receive organs transplants each day, another 15 people on waiting lists die because not enough organs are available. You can help by learning more about organ donation, signing up to be an organ and tissue donor, and supporting organ donation programs.
