The Internal Medical Associsates (IMA) provides medical care for adults ages 18 years and older. The IMA offers comprehensive healthcare services including the following:

• Physical examinations
• Follow-up treatment after initial diagnoses
• Urgent care
• Vaccinations
• Perioperative evaluations
• Education and nutritional counseling
• Psychosocial evaluations
• Generalized health maintenance

The IMA practice offers a range of medical services including comprehensive care for complex medical illnesses, management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, asthma, gastrointestinal disorders, musculoskeletal disorders, hepatitis and other liver diseases, and women’s health services including pelvic exams.  We routinely offer screening services for breast cancer, cervical cancer, and colon cancer.

Also available at our practice are specialized programs for the evaluation of musculoskeletal disorders and kidney diseases, and we are always happy to provide medical assessments before surgical procedures (known as perioperative consultation).

Once you become our patient, we will routinely monitor your health.  We will also coordinate and track your care and medical records. This is important when you need to visit multiple physicians or as your medical needs change.

Nurse practitioners within the IMA work with physicians and patients to ensure continuity of care and help patients manage chronic diseases through education.

All of the physicians at the IMA are especially adept at managing patients with multiple chronic diseases. These may include hypertension, asthma, diabetes, heart, lung and kidney disease, urological problems, obesity, high cholesterol, vascular disease, autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, and depressive disorders.

We will always make sure that you have access to available screening and prevention services. Again, these services are coordinated by us.

Screening services currently include mammography and screenings for cervical, colorectal, and prostate cancer, as well as for depression and related disorders.

We routinely participate in community health fairs and neighborhood health screening days. We also offer prepared talks on health and wellness topics to community groups.

Whenever necessary, we will refer you to specific support services at Mount Sinai that are tailored to your needs, including those available for diabetes, asthma, nutrition, and mental health.
