In a short period of time he has performed over 1,500 procedures (including diagnostic coronary and peripheral angiograms and complex coronary and endovascular interventions) with more than a 99 percent success rate and less than one percent major complication rate. Dr. Krishnan is one of the leaders in New York City in Endovascular Intervention. He is an expert at catheter based vascular therapy techniques with balloon angioplasty, stenting, atherectomy, cryoplasty, and laser of all vascular beds including the carotid, vertebral, subclavian, renal mesenteric, iliac, femoral and tibial arteries.
Dr. Krishnan has maintained a standard of excellence throughout his career. He has received numerous academic medals in medical school, including the "Intern of the Year","Chief Medical Resident", and "Chief Cardiology Fellow" in his residency and fellowship respectively. He has published in peer review journals focusing in the areas of intermittent claudication and distal embolic protection, and is active in many clinical trials; most recently the NIH sponsored CORAL Trial (Cardiovascular Outcomes with Renal Atherosclerotic Lesions). In addition he has been an invited moderator to numerous meetings and has performed live cases demonstrating the most current and safe techniques of endovascular intervention.
A patient advocate, Dr. Krishnan has dedicated his time in educating both patients and primary care physicians about peripheral arterial and coronary artery disease. He has been featured in WB 11 news, Business Wire, and Crain's New York Business.
