Breast Cancer

Patients with breast cancer find expert care at Mount Sinai. Physicians, surgeons, radiologists, radiation oncologists, social workers and others work together to provide the finest diagnostics, treatment and support. Our surgical oncology division includes curative and palliative approaches to breast cancers.

Among the innovative treatments of breast cancer that Mount Sinai offers cancer patients are: minimal access, local therapy for endocrine tumors, high risk screening, genetics of breast cancer, women’s breast/cancer center, and minimal access surgery for cancer in the elderly. Currently we are working on a gene therapy program for breast cancers.

Conventional and Digital Mammography

Our Breast Imaging Services – Mammography – are part of the Radiology Imaging Center at Mount Sinai, which is a state-of-the-art facility offering comprehensive radiological services. Our customized 20,000-square-foot facility offers a single conveniently accessed location, a warm environment designed for patient comfort, and the most advanced imaging technology available. Our radiologists include world-renowned subspecialists in Conventional and Digital Mammography, Ultrasound and MRI Imaging.

Comprehensive diagnostic breast imaging services include high resolution, low-dose digital and conventional mammography, breast ultrasound, ultrasound guided core biopsies, needle localizations, and stereotactic biopsy.
