Dr. McGinn's interests are in primary care, medical education, and evidence based medicine. He has worked closely with colleagues across the nation and international in developing and disseminating concepts of evidence based medicine. He is currently Vice Chair of the department of medicine and oversees all aspects of outpatient care for the department. His current research projects are involved with clinical prediction rules, prevalence and risk factors for hepatitis C in east Harlem, and evaluating various educational interventions with housestaff and residents.   • Frequent contributor to Best Evidence and ACP Journal Club of the Annals of Internal Medicine and The British Medical Journal
  • Speaks frequently and offers workshops in the area of how to teach and apply the concepts EBM
  • Author of Users Guide in the JAMA series which focuses on his area of expertise, Clinical Decision Rules.
