Dr. Grewal earned her M.D. from Government Medical College in Patiala India. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. She then proceeded to do her Gastroenterology and Hepatology from Saint Vincent's Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical Center, respectively, in Manhattan. Before joining Mount Sinai in 2004, she spent two years on Faculty in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY.
Dr. Grewal's areas of clinical interest are complications of portal hypertension, especially, spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, encephalopathy, hepatopulmonary syndrome and portopulmonary hypertension. She is an active investigator in many studies involving areas of her interest, as outlined above. She also has a special interest in living donor living transplantation. She is also the Director of the Liver Clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Dr. Grewal is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
