Dr. Marin received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency in surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center (New York, New York). In 1992 he took a fellowship in vascular surgery at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine (New York). Dr. Marin remained on the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine until 1996 when he was recruited to the faculty of Mount Sinai School of Medicine to start a program in endovascular surgery.
In addition to an active clinical practice and teaching, Dr. Marin has published extensively on topics in vascular surgery, with an emphasis on intimal hyperplasia, endovascular surgery and surgical techniques. He has been an author of more than 180 original completed communications in reviewed journals, 60 book chapters, and has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international professional meetings. Recent publications focus on special topics in endovascular aortic stent grafting. Dr. Marin has also been a collaborator on and featured in educational CD-ROMs and films. Dr. Marin has served as a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Endovascular Surgery and the Journal of Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Marin holds memberships in many regional and national professional societies. His professional accomplishments have been recognized with awards from the American Society of Gastroenterology, the Society for Vascular Surgery, and the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society.
