Health Care and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts
A reimbursement account provides employees with a way to pay for certain health care and dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis through payroll deductions. This program is governed by the IRS and is subject to minimum and maximum contribution amounts.
Transportation Reimbursement Incentive Program (TRIP)
The TRIP program is offered to help employees reduce the burden of qualified transportation and parking expenses on a pre-tax basis through payroll deductions. This program is governed by the IRS and is subject to minimum and maximum contribution amount
Tuition Assistance Program
Eligible to employees after one year of employment service. We offer up to $2,400 reimbursement per calendar year. Coverage is available for study at an accredited college or university. It must be a job related degree program or course(s) with a passing grade. To qualify for reimbursement it must be a job related degree program or course(s) in which you receive a passing grade.
Paid Time Off Program (PTO)
The Paid Time Off Program (PTO) combines vacation, sick and personal time into one PTO "bank". Employee classification and length of service determines the amount of PTO days that can be taken annually.
Long-Term Care Insurance
Long-Term Care Insurance Plan is a voluntary group insurance program provided to Mount Sinai's Employee's by John Hancock Life Insurance Company. The benefit will pay for charges incurred for nursing home care, alternate facility care, home health care, adult day care, and informal care for employees, spouses and the parents of both employee and spouse.
Supplemental Life Insurance
Mount Sinai Medical Center offers employees the option to purchase Voluntary Universal Life Insurance for themselves and their dependents. This insurance is individually owned and fully portable if you should leave employment with Mount Sinai for any reason. Universal Life Insurance features a cash value accumulation fund at competitive rates and new hires are given a one-time opportunity to enroll under favorable underwriting conditions, without the need for an exam or additional medical requirements. Premiums for the insurance can be conveniently paid to the EOI Service Company through payroll deduction.
Workers' Compensation
Employees are eligible for Workers' Compensation benefits if they are injured at work.
Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is an employer sponsored program that provides free confidential short-term counseling services to Mount Sinai Employee's and their covered dependents. Counseling services are provided by licensed social workers who are trained to treat individuals who are in need of personal assistance.
