Research

Laboratory diagnosis of inborn errors of metabolism

My main mission is to build state-of-art biochemical genetics laboratory at Mount Sinai.  I will bring the most updated tandem mass spectrometry technology into biochemical genetics laboratory.  We will expand diagnostic panel from amino acids, organic acids disorders to fatty acids oxidation disorders and all other NBS disorders.  We will transform the wet chemistry bench tradition into high-through put, automated, IT intelligent and technology driven laboratory platform.  In concert with departmental research expertise, we will develop our unique diagnostic testing in Porphyria, LSDs, and pharmacokinetics/dynamics of Warfarin and Tamoxifen.
