David B. Samadi, M.D., is the Chief of Robotics and Minimal Invasive Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He is one of the very few urologic surgeons who are trained both in oncology and robotic surgery in the United States. He performed the first robotic prostate cancer surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. To date, Dr. Samadi has performed over 2,100 robotic prostate surgeries at Mount Sinai, and the results are very pleasing for his patients. In total, he has performed well over 3,000.
Dr. Samadi is a board-certified urologist and a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of urologic diseases, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, and prostate cancer. He is a leader in prostate cancer treatment and robotic prostate surgery.
Robotic Surgery Expertise
Dr. Samadi is one of few surgeons in the New York City area and one of only five surgeons in New York State qualified to perform a robotic prostatectomy, and he uses the da Vinci surgery system.
He completed his postgraduate training in general surgery at Montefiore Medical Center and in urology at Albert Einstein School of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center. He went on to do an oncology fellowship in urology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and a robotic surgery fellowship at Henri Mondor Hospital Creteil in France under the mentorship of Professor Claud Abbou.
Dr. Samadi is a member of the American Urologic Association and the American Medical Association.

He has been offered many opportunities to participate in his own radio show to help people understand how prostate cancer, caught early is treatable and how to educate people on being more in tune with their bodies to stay healthy.
