Dr. Reena Karani is an Assistant Professor of Geriatrics, Medicine and Medical Education at Mount Sinai. She is also Director of the Clinical Curriculum and Assessment for the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Co-Director of the Integrated Internal Medicine-Geriatrics Medical Student Clerkship. Dr. Karani received her B.S. in Biology from Brown University and her M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center and her fellowship, chief fellowship and research fellowship in Geriatrics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Karani's clinical interests include care of the hospitalized older adult, perioperative management and consultative models of care in geriatrics. Her research and career interests include performance based learner evaluation and psychometrics of various evaluation methods. She has presented at national and international meetings and is the author of numerous print and web-based publications primarily focused on medical education.
