Research

Dr. Futterweit has a career commitment to the study of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Currently he is studying the natural history of this disease; one of the the most common endocrine disorders of reproductive aged women. The cohort size is >800 patients followed for 2-15 years. Important issues that are to be addressed are the incidence rates of concomitant disease including heart disease, diabetes, breast, uterine and pituitary dysfunctions. This is part of a national PCOS Multisite Study.
