Psychological Support for Cancer Patients and Their Families
Dr. Diefenbach is a social/health psychologist with particular interest in treatment decision making and health communication. He develops and evaluates innovative approaches to improve patient knowledge. These approaches are integrated into the clinical consultation process. When needed he is available to consult directly with patients and family members. He leads a federally funded research program that aims to improve treatment decision making, patient-physician communication, and quality of life through innovative patient and family focused programs.
The Mount Sinai Medical Center is home to an extensive array of top-notch research centers and laboratories, where scientists and researchers work to translate the rapid advances in basic science into the innovative patient care for which we are known.
Participating in Mount Sinai’s clinical trials allows you to take advantage of innovative treatments as we work together to advance the future of medicine.
