Research

Dr. Yakar is the co-Director of diabetes research in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Disease. Her research focuses on the generation, development and use of various murine transgenic and knockout models related to the insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) signaling system. Dr. Yakar has received numerous awards from the Endocrine Society including The 2001 Molecular and Cellular Research Travel Award.
