Dr. Sehba came to Mount Sinai in 1997 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Cerebrovascular Research Laboratory of Neurosurgery, and in 2001 she was promoted to Assistant Professor. She has a joint appointment in the Department of Neurosciences. Dr. Sehba is studying early cerebral injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage. Her research is supported by an RO1 (NIH, NINDS).

Research

Dr. Sehba is studying cerebral injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage, She demonstrated for the first time that anatomical and structural alterations occur in cerebral microvessels early after subarachnoid hemorrhage. Her current research investigates the mechanisms leading to structural alterations and their effect on vessel function.
