Dr. Bar-Chama is the Director of Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital and is on faculty in both the Department of Urology and the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Bar-Chama was awarded the New York Academy of Medicine F.C. Valentine Fellowship and sub-specialized in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at The Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. His subspecialty clinical practice is exclusively dedicated to male reproductive medicine and microsurgical reconstruction for the treatment of male infertility (vasovasostomy, varicocelectomy, testicular and epididymal sperm retrieval, vasectomy) and penile reconstructive surgery including implants.

Dr. Bar-Chama has published extensively in the fields of male infertility and impotence and is responsible for the training of Mount Sinai School of Medicine urology residents in these respective fields. In 1998, Dr. Bar-Chama received the Pfizer Scholars in Urology award for leadership, innovation and outstanding achievement in urological science. Castle Connolly in their 2001-2007 editions listed Dr. Bar-Chama as one of the top doctors in the New York Metro area. Annually since 2005 Dr. Bar-Chama has been honored as one of New York Magazine best doctors.

Dr. Bar-Chama is a member of the board of directors of the American Infertility Association an organization whose mission is to support and educate couples suffering with infertility. For these efforts, the American Infertility Association in 2000 bestowed upon him the prestigious Family Building Award. Dr. Bar-Chama also sits on the board of directors for the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology as well as the membership committee for the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASMR).
