Dr. Albanis has recently joined the faculty of the Division of Liver Diseases following advanced clinical and basic research training in Hepatology at Mount Sinai. Her main interests are the development of a non-invasive test for liver fibrosis by receptor imaging, as well as the identification and testing of novel therapies for this disease. She is assuming a leadership role in an antifibrotic drug development research center at Mount Sinai, which is envisioned as a unique resource dedicated to the identification and testing of drugs to combat hepatic fibrosis. She is the recipient of numerous national honors for her promising work, including the prestigious Amgen/AASLD Physician Research Development Award (2000).
