Richard A. Bordowitz, M.D., M.P.H. has been on the faculty of Mount Sinai School of Medicine since 2005 as a Clinical Instructor. Prior, he was a resident in Mount Sinai's Preventive Medicine residency program. He is dual boarded in Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine. Dr. Bordowitz received his B.A. at Rutgers University, his M.D. from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, and his M.P.H. from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He volunteered in a clinic in Kenya for two years. He is qualified as an HIV specialist. He currently is on faculty for the division of Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine. He is the Course Director of the M.P.H. Journal Club for Health Professionals and Co-director for the Disease Prevention and Public Health class for Non Health Professionals. He is a small group leader for ASM 2. Dr. Bordowitz is medical director of a NIH grant, Building Food Justice in East New York for which Dr. Kimberly Morland is Principal Investigator. Dr. Bordowitz research interest is in clinical Preventive Medicine. He is particularly interested in the use of the Electronic Health Record for Preventive Medicine and Public Health. He has written "The Use of the Electronic Health Record to Improve Documentation and Treatment of Obesity" which has been accepted for publication in Family Medicine.
