Dr. Gladstone is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. Dr. Gladstone is a specialist in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery. He attended Dartmouth College and Tufts University School of Medicine. He performed his orthopaedic residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center's New York Orthopaedic Hospital.

Following his residency he sub-specialized with a fellowship in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama under the tutelage of Dr. James Andrews and Dr. William Clancy. In 1996, he joined the Department of Orthopaedics at Mount Sinai as an assistant professor and specialist in sports medicine.

Dr. Gladstone's areas of expertise include arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle, ligament reconstruction of the knee, shoulder stabilization procedures for instability and dislocation, rotator cuff problems from bursitis to rotator cuff tears and knee and shoulder total joint replacement. As a result of intense exposure during fellowship, Dr. Gladstone is highly skilled and up-to-date in the latest techniques of arthroscopic surgery. This type of surgery, which uses fiberoptic pencil-thin camera, can reduce skin and muscle incisions and facilitate rehabilitation and a faster return to activities.

Dr. Gladstone has extensive experience in management of sports injuries from muscle strains, tendinitis and other overuse injuries to acute ligament tears and joint dislocations.

Dr. Gladstone's interest in sports medicine extends to acting as team physician for a number of area high schools, event coverage such as the New York City marathon and conducting seminars on sports injury prevention and treatment.
