Dr. Martin is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. She is Co-Director of Neuropsychology Training and is a clinician and administrator of neuropsychological services at the medical center. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from New York University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Martin is a founder of the Women's Initiative at Mount Sinai, an interdivisional effort that links programs and practitioners specializing in issues pertaining to women's health. She teaches in the Memory Enhancement Program, a wellness program for older adults, and also maintains a neuropsychological evaluation and psychotherapy practice.
As Co-Director of the Neuropsychological Testing and Evaluation Center, she provides neuropsychological assessment for memory disorders, and teaches, "Introduction to Neuropsychological Assessment in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry". Dr. Martin conducts and supervises neuropsychological assessments, in addition to teaching and lecturing on the topic of neuropsychological testing and memory and aging. Dr. Martin's research interests include healthy aging in the elderly, Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, and women's cognitive changes throughout the lifespan. She receives research support from Mount Sinai's ADRC (Alzheimer's Disease Research Center) and the ADCS Project (Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study Site) on which she is PI for a multi-center 4-year longitudinal study to evaluate home-based methods for Alzheimer's disease prevention research.
