Patient Services
All treatment at the Liver Diseases FPA is tailored to a patient’s diagnosis, which is determined through laboratory testing, radiology, and other diagnostic procedures. During evaluation, we also take into account severity of disease, the patient’s age and overall level of health, as well as other factors that may affect treatment.
Our experienced faculty collectively has managed the whole spectrum of liver disease in adults. This knowledge leads to the effective and prompt diagnosis and treatment for patients with liver disease.
We are also experts in the safe performance of liver biopsy as well as other procedures -- including endoscopy – that are necessary for the evaluation and management of liver disease.
Our patients range in age from young adults to the very old; patients with acute and chronic conditions; patients with genetic liver disease, and those with acquired disease of any etiology.
Older patients and those with multiple chronic conditions -- such as patients with both kidney and liver disease -- are especially well served by the team approach to care at Mount Sinai. Because many patients present with more than one medical condition, we take a coordinated, multidisciplinary team approach to caring for our patients.
Each of us at the Mount Sinai Liver Diseases Faculty Practice Associates is proud to be in the forefront of treatment and research. However, equally important to us is the knowledge that we provide highly specialized care in a cheerful, dignified, and respectful manner to all our patients.
