The Mount Sinai School of Medicine Consortium for Graduate Medical Education, consisting of 13 institutions located in New York and New Jersey, sponsors more than 140 residency programs in virtually every specialty of medicine, enrolling in the aggregate more than 2,000 house staff. Consortium educational activities provided to all house staff, regardless of home institution or specialty.
The Division of Vascular Surgery has been training vascular surgeons since the early 1960's. Today, our ACGME-approved Clinical Vascular Fellowship program offers two one-year positions to highly-qualified individuals each academic year.
The program is based at The Mount Sinai Hospital, a 1,171 bed tertiary care center in the heart of New York City. Staffed by 1,800 physicians, the hospital serves as the primary academic facility for Mount Sinai School of Medicine, internationally recognized for world-class teaching and research.
The Endovascular program is one of the busiest in the nation, and fellows can expect exposure to a large number of endovascular and open vascular surgical cases, and catheter-based interventions (both diagnostic and therapeutic). In addition, fellows are trained in non-invasive diagnostic techniques at the Marie-Josée and Henry R.Kravis Center for Cardiovascular Health, an Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) accredited facility.
An oustanding feature of the program is its integration with the other specialties involved in treating vascular disease. In addition to vascular surgeons, faculty includes interventional radiologists, cardiologists and vascular medicine specialists.
