The Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery offers one single-year fellowship to a highly qualified individual each academic year. Now in its eighth year, the program provides fellows with well-rounded training in all aspects of colon and rectal surgery.
The fellowship is based at The Mount Sinai Hospital, a 1,171-bed tertiary care center in the heart of Manhattan. Staffed by 1,800 physicians, the hospital serves as the primary academic facility for Mount Sinai School of Medicine, internationally recognized for world-class teaching and research.
Mount Sinai maintains one of the most active centers for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in the Northeast. High surgical volume exposes fellows to a wide range of cases and procedures, working with experienced surgeons who take an active interest in their education. Participants perform a variety of procedures using different techniques—from traditional open surgery to minimally invasive approaches.
All of our graduate fellows have advanced to prestigious appointments and private practices across the country.
