The Mount Sinai School of Medicine Consortium for Graduate Medical Education, consisting of 13 institutions located in New York and New Jersey, sponsors more than 140 residency programs in virtually every specialty of medicine, enrolling in the aggregate more than 2,000 house staff. Consortium educational activities provided to all house staff, regardless of home institution or specialty.

Program Overview

The Pediatric Gastroenterology training program at Mount Sinai has been in existence since 1979. The combined training program exists under the auspicies of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology (Dr. Keith Benkov, Chief), the Division of Pediatric Hepatology (Dr. Benjamin Shneider, Chief), and the Small Bowel Transplant Program (Dr. Stuart Kaufman, Director). All training is accomplished at the main campus of ount Sinai School of Medicine, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The Mount Sinai Hospital is an 1,100-bed tertiary care center located in the heart of a metropolitan area of more than 15 million people. The inpatient pediatric facility is located in the Kravis Women's and Children's Center and includes 75 beds on three general pediatric floors.
