The Mount Sinai School of Medicine Consortium for Graduate Medical Education, consisting of 13 institutions located in New York and New Jersey, sponsors more than 140 residency programs in virtually every specialty of medicine, enrolling in the aggregate more than 2,000 house staff. Consortium educational activities provided to all house staff, regardless of home institution or specialty.

Program Overview

The Chief of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes is Robert Rapaport, M.D. Dr. Rapaport is the Emma Elizabeth Sullivan Professor of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes and Director of the Hall Family Center for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. The Division recruits two fellows per year into ACGME-approved three-year (straight Pediatrics) and/or four-year (Medicine-Pediatrics) fellowship programs.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes of Mount Sinai School of Medicine to train this specialty's future leaders in clinical care, clinical research, and laboratory investigation.

Advanced Laboratory Research Fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology

In addition to the ACGME-approved track, the Endocrine Genetics and Adrenal Steroid Disorders track offers an additional two-year laboratory research fellowship for individuals committed to academic research in Endocrinology. In this track, clinical responsibility is limited to ≤ 20 percent of training time. This clinical exposure can be tailored to the fellow's prior clinical experience and educational goals.
