Electronic Residency Application Service

The Electronic Residency Application Service—is a service that transmits residency applications, letters of recommendation, MSPEs, transcripts, and other supporting credentials from applicants and medical schools to fellowship, osteopathic internship, and residency programs using the Internet.

Application Process

Applicants must be graduates of approved medical schools in the United States or Canada or international graduates holding a valid ECFMG certificate. Applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applications for July 1 should be received by December 1. Appointments are made principally through the NRMP match.

Applicants who are granted interviews for candidacy in our pathology residency and fellowship programs may find making reservations for lodging difficult and intimidating in a city as large as New York. We have compiled a list of hotels that may be helpful. It is advised to make arrangements as far in advance as possible as many hotels in New York City are frequently booked weeks in advance. Some of these hotels offer a discount rate for interviewing applicants (mention "Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Pathology discount" during booking). Other hotel accommodations near Mount Sinai can be found under the section Directions and Map.
