The Lillian and Henry M. Stratton-Hans Popper Department of Pathology, established in 1893, occupies the 15th floor of the 31-story Annenberg Building, which houses the School of Medicine, Levy Library, major operating suites, and medical research activities. Each year more than 110,000 surgical specimen examinations, 6,500 operating room consultations, 65,000 cytopathology examinations, 250 autopsies, and 750,000 clinical laboratory procedures are performed in the combined programs.
