Every December, The Friends of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science -- a group of people committed to enhancing health care for women at Mount Sinai -- sponsor a fundraising event to support the primary objective of Mount Sinai: excellent care achieved through first-rate service, research, education, and training.
The 21st Annual Mount Sinai OBGYN Fashion Show and Luncheon was held on December 2, 2008 at the Waldorf-Astoria Grand Ballroom and featured a preview of the Escada 2009 Spring Collection.

Challenges in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health
On April 22-23, 2009, Drs. Rhoda S. Sperling and Michael L. Brodman led a Continuing Medical Education course to familiarize practicing physicians with up-to-date advances in obstetrics and gynecology.
Some of the learning objectives were:
- Formulate a systematic approach to the evaluation of gastrointestinal and dermatologic complaints complicating pregnancy
- Assess the impact of cancer on pregnancy management and outcomes
- Evaluate current recommendations for utilizing amniocentesis to assess fetal lung maturation
- Assess medical and legal issues related to umbilical cord blood banking
