Mount Sinai offers house staff salaries commensurate with those of other leading medical institutions in the New York metropolitan area. Health insurance, professional liability insurance, and numerous other benefits are provided to all members of the residency program. Residents receive one month of vacation each year, typically taken in two-week periods.

In addition, we provide all incoming residents with a standard neurology textbook, annual membership to the American Academy of Neurology including a subscription to Neurology, and the required New York State medical license, infectious disease, child abuse, and CPR courses.

The Mount Sinai Medical Center makes every effort to provide adequate housing for house staff. Resident staff accommodations are offered in a number of modern apartment buildings within walking distance of the Hospital. Standard amenities include 24-hour doorman and intercom security systems; laundry rooms; sundecks; exercise, gym and recreation facilities; and outdoor handball and basketball courts. Furnished and unfurnished apartments are available. Larger apartments are available to residents with families.
