Welcome to the virology training program of Mount Sinai School of Medicine (MSSM) and the NYU School of Medicine (NYUSOM). The goal of this program is to assist in the training of graduate and postdoctoral students in the broad discipline of Virology. The research training emphasis is directed toward teaching students the theory and experimental approaches required for independent scientific investigations. Students learn the molecular mechanisms involved in virus replication and host responses to viral infections. Additional research areas available for training include novel approaches for antiviral strategies and vaccine development.
Training Goal
Our goal is to develop junior scientists and investigators who are well grounded in the fundamental knowledge of virology and laboratory research, preparing them for careers at universities and in industry where they study mechanisms of virus-host interactions.
