The Mount Sinai Department of Emergency Medicine has full, independent department status in both the medical school and the hospital.
In December of 2004 we were awarded full accreditation for 8 years, until 2012.

Academic funding—$1000 per resident over the course of their residency for for books, conferences and other relevant expenses. The department covers expenses for regional and national meetings when residents present or sit on committees. Memberships to SAEM, ACEP, AAEM are paid for by the department.

Discounts through the Recreation Office
New York City is one of the most exciting cities in the world offering an extraordinary array of artistic, athletic, cultural, and intellectual activities and events. The Mount Sinai Recreation Office offers free and discounted tickets for theater, sports, and other events. Discounts are also available for cell phone plans, health and fitness centers, car rentals and many other services.
The Mount Sinai Medical Center owns several buildings near the hospital with partially subsidized apartments for the use of house officers and their families.
Mount Sinai operates a free shuttle bus throughout the day between the two training sites. There is also garage parking at both sites. Subway fare, parking, and other transport fees can come out of pre-taxed salary.
