The Mount Sinai School of Medicine Consortium for Graduate Medical Education, consisting of 13 institutions located in New York and New Jersey, sponsors more than 140 residency programs in virtually every specialty of medicine, enrolling in the aggregate more than 2,000 house staff. Consortium educational activities provided to all house staff, regardless of home institution or specialty.

Program Overview

This two-year residency program in dental anesthesiology is recognized by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Inc. (ADSA) and by the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists (ASDA). It is also recognized and accredited by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology.

Philosophy

Mount Sinai offers a comprehensive two-year program in Dental Anesthesiology. The program in Dental Anesthesiology is sponsored by the Department of Dentistry with formal liaison to the Department of Anesthesiology. Orientation to anesthesiology and the main operating rooms is provided by the Department of Anesthesiology.

The Mount Sinai Hospital is one of the oldest and largest voluntary hospitals in the United States, providing about 1,200 inpatient beds. Its five hundred house officers, representing 37 specialities, treat over 150,000 inpatients yearly.
