EligibilityApplications are invited from students who have completed their undergraduate degree with a major in the sciences. Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and some prior independent research experience. The Program admits only students who wish to pursue the Master of Science degree on a full-time basis. Applicants whose native language is not English and who did not complete their undergraduate degree at an institution in the United States will be required to submit the results of the TOEFL exam or other suitable documentation of proficiency in the English language. Applicants for the Master's in Biomedical Sciences Program should use the online application. Applications will be accepted on a continuing basis. Students may begin their study in the fall or spring semester. Applications materials are due June 1 for a fall semester start in the program. We prefer that you use Interfolio for submitting your letters of recommendation. If you choose not to use Interfolio, please have your recommender attach the MS Biomedical Sciences Recommendation form to his/her letter of recommendation. Please address all correspondence to: Master of Science Program in Biomedical Sciences Selection CriteriaAdmission is based on the applicant’s academic records, scores on standardized tests (GRE or MCAT), prior educational record, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement regarding past research experience and ultimate career plans. TuitionTuition for the M.S. in Biomedical Sciences degree is $24,000 per year (2009-2010 rate) for one-and-a-half years. Students may continue in the program for an additional six months to complete research projects without paying additional tuition. All students will have full access to Mount Sinai’s financial aid office for assistance in identifying and obtaining loans. |
