Students who are interested in taking courses without matriculating for the full degree are welcome to take up to 9 credits of coursework after which time to continue they must apply for the full degree. Please fill out the following information for our records. This information must be filled out prior to registering for courses.

Application Process for Students who wish to matriculate for the M.P.H. degree. The following material is required for consideration for admission to Mount Sinai School of Medicine Master of Public Health degree.

Program Eligibility and Application Process

Our Program presumes that students enter with a working knowledge of basic medical terminology and major concepts of health and illness. People with degrees in medicine, nursing, or the allied health professions, or simultaneously in training, ordinarily meet this requirement. Others, without formal training but with work experience in the health professions may meet this requirement and should meet with the Program Director.

Applicants must possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. While there are no specific course requirements, the transcript will be reviewed for demonstration of satisfactory performance in quantitative and qualitative methods and in social and biological sciences. Students are selected on the basis of demonstrated past academic achievement.

MD-MPH Dual Degree Students

Students who are applying for a dual M.D.-M.P.H. degree need not fill out an additional application for the M.P.H. Program here; however, dual degree applicants should contact the Admissions Office to alert them of their interest in applying for the dual M.D.-M.P.H. program. A copy of the medical school application will be forwarded to the M.P.H. Program for our records.

Non-Degree Students

Students who are interested in taking courses without matriculating for the full degree are welcome to take up to 16 credits of coursework after which time to continue they must apply for the full degree. Please fill out the following information for our records. This information must be filled out prior to registering for courses.
